Finance Director
The Finance Director is responsible for financial management and reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and assisting the City Manager with developing the Fiscal Year annual operating and capital budgets, managing grants such as GDOT's Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) and the U.S. Treasury's American Rescue Plan, and other funds including Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), and helping with worker’s compensation and liability claims, and other benefits reporting.

Education and/or Certifications: 1987 Honors Graduate of Morgan County High School, Diploma in Accounting from Athens Technical College, EMT-I Diploma from Athens Technical College, Certified City Clerk through the University of Georgia, Certified Municipal Court Clerk through the University of Georgia, Certified TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator) through the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and Georgia Crime Information Center, Certified National Child Passenger Safety Technician through Safe Kids Worldwide. Other certificates include: Notary Public, Citizens Firearms Training, Occupational Tax Law and Alcoholic Beverage License, CJIS Network Operator Training and Suspicious Activity Reporting.
Professional Experience: Lee has been employed with City of Watkinsville since 2013. For eight years, she was the City Clerk for the City of Bostwick, and Office Manager for Contentment Foods, LLC processing payroll, entering deposits, and accounting for six restaurants. She served on Morgan County Station #3 as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for 15 years. She also was previously employed with Avado Brands, Inc. in a variety of positions from processing payroll for 220+ Applebee’s Restaurants to processing beer, wine and alcohol tax for multiple states for Hops Restaurants. She has also previously worked for National Tax Service, which is now The Tax Shelter and the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce.
Personal Information: Lee has lived in Morgan County in the Paradise Falls community for 47 years. She has one daughter, Marissa (26) and a granddaughter, Kobie (5). She loves God and enjoys helping others and volunteering for charities, as often as she can. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, riding motorcycles and reading.
